A man was killed in a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side late Saturday.
About 11:30 p.m., the 25-year-old was shot multiple times near the intersection of West 71st Street and South Ashland Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 1:42 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The man’s identity was withheld early Sunday pending notification of family.
A person is in custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
