Arthur Sanchez was killed in a drive-by shooting Sunday night in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.
The 51-year-old was standing outside about 8:55 p.m. on a corner in the 2000 block of South Leavitt, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Two male suspects drove past in a Chevrolet vehicle, shouted gang slogans, then fired shots, police said.
Sanchez was struck in the chest and both arms, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m., authorities said. He lived just a couple of blocks away from where he was shot.
Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
